Collagen is sort of having a moment right now. It’s been around forever but it’s really starting to catch on in the wellness community as of late and for good reason… it’s sort of magical.

Let me break it down…

Collagen is the most abundant protein in our body. It makes up 70% of our skin and 90% of our connective tissue

Aging sucks. In our 20’s, our bodies begin making less collagen which leads to wrinkles, saggy skin, stiff joints and weaker bones.

Back to the paleo thing… in the cave men times, people ate entire animals and let’s be honest… that’s a pretty good way to get collagen. Since today, we’re less inclined to eat an entire animal, we’re taking in less collagen in our diets.

Thankfully, we can add collagen peptides to our diet to help reverse the natural collagen loss that’s just a part of the aging process.

Green Collagen Smoothie

Serves: 1

Ingredients:

  • 1 scoop Further Food 100% Pure Collagen Protein Powder (you can use 2 if you want more protein!)

  • 2 Cups Raw Spinach (loosely packed)

  • 8 oz Unsweetened Vanilla Almond Milk

  • 2 Tsp Chia Seeds

  • ½ Frozen Banana½ Cup Frozen Strawberries

  • 1 Packet Truvia

  • Ice

Directions:

  1. Combine all ingredients in blender and blend!
