Registered Dietitian Approved Trader Joe’s High Protein Favorites

I’m super lucky to have a Trader Joe’s 3 blocks away from my apartment in Williamsburg. I love stopping in to see what’s new and pick up a new fun product to try so that I can report back to my clients (and you all!)

While Trader Joe’s has a ton of great products that can be part of a healthy lifestyle, navigating the store when it’s crowded and you’re trying to read nutrition labels while a line of shopping carts are lining up behind you can be stressful.

I put together this post to help you identify some high protein products that have my stamp of approval!

Let’s take a closer look at my picks…

Argentinian Red Shrimp with Ginger Garlic Butter

Argentinian Red Shrimp with Ginger Garlic Butter – This shrimp comes frozen but once you that it in the refrigerator, it cooks in just a few minutes. Try it with the TJ’s cauliflower rice stir fry for an easy meal!

Shawarma Chicken Thighs

I love using these to make bowls with rice, Israeli salad and hummus for easy meal prep!

Sriracha Flavored Baked Tofu

If you can’t figure out how to make tofu taste good, this is fool proof! No need to press the tofu or marinate- it’s all already done for you!

Sesame Teriyaki Beef Skirt Steak

I absolutely love skirt steak but it’s not always the leanest cut of beef. A 4 oz portion of this has great macros and also tastes amazing!

Shrimp Burgers

Intimidated by cooking seafood at home? These frozen burgers are so easy!

Pollo Asado

This marinated chicken breast just need to be cooked on a grill pan or the BBQ and then you’re ready for Taco Tuesday!

Chicken Meatballs

Fully cooked, gluten free chicken meatballs! I freeze them in bags of 4 and defrost them in the microwave for 30 seconds!

Uncured Pastrami

As a New Yorker, I’m partial to Katz’s pastrami but when you’re bored of a turkey sandwich but still want a lean meat, you can’t beat this! It has the same calories and fat as turkey breast!

Sesame Crusted Hardwood Smoked Ahi Tuna

This is like if smoked salmon and tuna had a baby. You can use it the same way you would smoked salmon but I happen to think it works great for at-home poke bowls.

Hardwood Smoked Pulled Chicken

Making pulled chicken usually takes hours but all you have to do here is open the pouch and heat it up. Toss it with BBQ sauce for an easy BBQ pulled chicken.

Balsamic Rosemary Beef Steak Tips

Pick up a package of the frozen roasted potatoes and veggies and throw them in the air fryer with these balsamic rosemary beef steak tips and you have a delicious meal in 10 minutes.

Steamed Lentils

These already cooked lentils are great in a salad or mixed with a mirepoix and tossed with pasta.

Salmon Burgers

If you’re intimidated by cooking fish at home you have to try these salmon burgers! Cook them in the oven, air fryer, grill or in a pan on your stove!

Have you had any of these? What’s your favorite Trader Joe’s product?
